Petra
Petra is one of the world’s heritage sites and one of the new seven wonders of the world. It is considered to be Jordan’s most famous and popular attraction, located about 262 km south of the city Amman and 133 km north of Aqaba.
It is a vast unique city carved into sheer rock, which was the capital of the Nabataeans , who settled in southern Jordan more than 2300 years ago. Within the site there are a lot of outstanding architectural wonders, like the “Treasury”, the Roman style theatre, hundreds of elaborate rock cut tombs, and two museums.
